Buying guidance
Every Lista key is stamped with its key code; on standard locks it reads YNSX followed by a number. If you still have one key, or even a photo of one, you do not need a locksmith or a new lock: replacement keys are cut to that code and mailed out, and the lock never leaves the drawer. The code lives only on the keys, the lock itself shows no number, so one surviving key is all it takes.
Fastest path: email a photo of a key (or just the code) to hello@deltaindustrialstorage.com with how many keys you need, or call (512) 521-4699. We confirm the code and quote cut keys, usually within one business day.
With no surviving key there is no code to cut from, because the lock itself carries no number. A local locksmith can open the cabinet without damaging it. Once it is open, replace the lock outright with a new core, housing, and keys from this page: about ten minutes, no special tools, full walkthrough in our lock replacement guide. Then record the new key number somewhere safe.
Lista cabinets ship with one of three lock-core configurations, and you can swap cores in the field with the release tool. This page carries replacement parts for all three.
The lock core release tool is the small tool you push into the face of the lock to release the core, used when rekeying cabinets you still have keys for: swapping cores between cabinets or setting up keyed-alike groups while the housings stay put. Replacing a lost-key lock does not need it; that swap uses the retainer channel behind the lock instead, as shown in our lock replacement guide.
The master key (cut) is the master in a master-keyed system. Order spares before you need them; turnaround on a new master key is the standard Lista lead time.
Cabinets accumulate, and technicians leave with keys. If your floor has grown into a mix of random keys, we can bring it back under control: convert a bank of cabinets to keyed-alike by swapping cores, or set up a proper master-key system so every cabinet keeps its own key while the crib attendant carries one. New cabinets can be factory-keyed to match your existing scheme before they ship, just tell us at order time. Send us a count of cabinets and how you want access to work and we will quote the cores, keys, and a swap plan.
All key and lock parts ship small-parcel, freight-free to the contiguous 48.
Find the key code on one of your original keys; on standard Lista locks it starts with YNSX followed by a number. Email a photo of the key to hello@deltaindustrialstorage.com with how many keys you need and we confirm the code and quote cut keys, usually within one business day. The code appears only on the keys, not on the lock itself.
On the keys, and only on the keys. Standard Lista key codes read YNSX followed by a number, like YNSX25. The lock core itself carries no number, which is why keeping one original key, or even a photo of one, matters so much.
If any original key still exists anywhere, even in a photo, order keys cut to the code printed on it. If every key is truly gone, no code exists to cut from, so the fix is replacing the lock: a local locksmith opens the cabinet without damage, and the lock then swaps out in about ten minutes with no special tools. The walkthrough is at deltaindustrialstorage.com/lista-lock-replacement.
Yes. That is a keyed-alike system. Existing cabinets convert by swapping in keyed-alike cores, and new cabinets can be factory-keyed to match before they ship.
In a master-keyed system every cabinet keeps its own individual key, and one master key opens all of them. It is the standard setup for tool cribs. Order a spare master before you need it.
Vidmar uses a different lock system. Our sister brand Echo Industrial Source is an authorized Vidmar dealer and handles Vidmar keys and lock cores at echoindustrialsource.com.
Keeping a fleet running is more than keys: drawer removal and repair, identifying a cabinet with no model number, and moving cabinets safely, and replacing a lock when every key is gone.
