"What cabinet do I have?" is one of the questions we get most, and it almost always arrives the same way: someone wants to add a matching cabinet, order parts, or get keys cut, they went looking for a model number, and they could not find one anywhere. Good news: you do not need the tag. Here is the fast way to identify any Lista cabinet, with or without it.
First, the 60 second tag check
Worth a quick look before the tape measure comes out. Check inside the top drawer, on the drawer side or the housing wall behind it, then the back of the housing. If you find a label, you are done: photograph it and email it to hello@deltaindustrialstorage.com, and we will decode it and quote whatever you need from it. (If the number starts with XS, that is a Lista Xpress build, the fast ship program, which usually means a match ships quickly too.)
No label, or a worn one? Keep going. Half the cabinets we identify have no readable tag.
No tag? Measure three things and count the drawers
Lista builds in distinctive size families, which is what makes identification by measurement so reliable. Grab a tape and record:
- Width, straight across the drawer fronts. Standard Lista widths run 22 3/16, 28 1/4, 47, and 56 1/2 inches, so your measurement will usually land almost exactly on one of them.
- Depth, front of the drawer face to the back of the housing. The standard is 28 1/2 inches.
- Height, floor to the top of the housing, and note whether it sits on a base or directly on the floor.
- Count the drawer fronts and, if you have another minute, measure a couple of the drawer face heights. The drawer stack is what separates cabinets that share the same shell.
The two heights almost everyone owns
Height families in the Lista line trace back to metric engineering, but two of them cover most of the cabinets in the field:
- The 900 class, counter height. The most popular cabinet in the line, because the top doubles as a work surface and it slides under benches and next to machines.
- The 1350 class, eye level. Maximum storage while every drawer stays reachable without a step stool.
If your cabinet is roughly counter height or roughly eye level, odds are strong you are looking at one of these two, and a match is a stocked, fast moving configuration.
