When mobile cabinets earn their keep

Lista's mobile cabinets are the same drawer construction as the SC and HS modular line (heavy-duty steel, full-extension slides, anti-tilt) sitting on locking industrial casters instead of a fixed base. They make sense in three situations:

1. Cells that reconfigure. If your production layout changes when a model changes, a mobile cabinet rolls to the new cell with the tools already inside. Faster than moving a fixed cabinet, much faster than re-kitting.
2. Point-of-use tool storage. Roll the cabinet to the work, lock the casters, work out of the drawer. Common in aerospace assembly, MRO bays, large-machine setup, and inspection-on-the-floor workflows.
3. Shared tool kits. A single mobile cabinet of common tools serves several stations on a rotation.

The mechanical trade-off is height: mobile cabinets are typically Bench or Counter height (not Tall) because casters raise the cabinet 4 to 6 in and high cabinets become tippy. If you need maximum drawer count per cabinet, the stationary line is the right call.

All mobile cabinets here use locking industrial casters rated for at least 1,000 lb each. The cabinet stays put when you pull a drawer out: no need to chock or anchor. Drawer mechanism is identical to the stationary line, so any drawer divider, partition, or red plastic box on the accessories page will fit.

The two Mobile Workcenters on this page are a hybrid: same caster-mounted drawer cabinet, but with an integrated factory worktop already mounted on the cabinet, so you don't add a separate worksurface line. Pick a Workcenter when the same technician works at the bench and stores their tools in the same unit. Pick a standard mobile cabinet when the cabinet feeds multiple workstations.
