Sliding doors or hinged doors?

Lista shelf cabinets store the things that don't fit in a drawer: bulk consumables, PPE, large fixtures, oversized tools, fluids, kits and assemblies. The choice between sliding and hinged doors is the only meaningful spec decision, and it comes down to your aisle.

Sliding doors are the right answer in tight aisles. The door panels never project past the cabinet footprint, so a sliding-door cabinet works in a 36 in aisle the same as a 60 in aisle. The trade-off: you can only see half the cabinet interior at a time.

Hinged doors swing open about 180 degrees (depending on adjacent obstructions), giving you full visibility and unobstructed access to every shelf at once. Faster to find what you're looking for; needs aisle clearance equal to the door width.

Width follows the same pattern as Lista's modular cabinets:

• Medium width (approximately 30 to 35 in) for a single-aisle work cell or a row alongside a workbench.
• Wide (approximately 53 in) for crib storage, where you're moving large boxes or stacks of consumables in and out frequently.

Shelves are adjustable steel on standard pitch. You can pull out a shelf and reset the spacing in a few minutes. For PPE walls and consumables in plastic totes, drop the shelves close together; for large fixtures, give yourself the headroom.
