Buying guidance
First, the names: a Lista workbench is a heavy-gauge steel frame under the worksurface of your choice; a Lista workstation is the same bench with drawer-pedestal storage built into the frame. The XSTB technical workstation series goes furthest — a pre-configured bench-in-a-box with the drawer pedestal integrated at the factory, quoted per order. Every model on this page is a fixed Lista part number: spec it once, reorder the identical bench years later.
Two decisions matter: frame and worksurface.
Frame. The Industrial Workbench is fixed, levelable, and bolts to the floor if you want it to. Maximum stability for heavy machining, assembly under load, and any application where you'd rather the bench not move. The Mobile Workbench rides on the same locking industrial casters as the mobile cabinet line. Rolls between cells; locks solid for work. Trade a small amount of static rigidity for full mobility. The Industrial Workstation series is a workbench and a drawer pedestal built as one piece, saving roughly 8 in of footprint over a bench-plus-rollaround and eliminating the awkward gap where parts and shop towels collect. Pick a workstation when the technician at the bench is the same technician using the drawers all shift.
Both frame types are steel: no MDF, no thin tube, and take the same worksurfaces.
Worksurface. Butcher block (laminated hardwood) is the right answer for mechanical work: tough, repairable, takes a hit without denting the underlying steel. Doesn't love long-term oil or solvent exposure. Plastic laminate (typically dove gray) is the right answer for clean assembly, inspection, kitting, and electronics work. Wipes clean. Easier on calibrated instruments. Static-dissipative (ESD) and stainless steel tops are also stocked on the Industrial frame for ESD-sensitive electronics and food-grade or cleanroom work.
Length is either 60 in or 72 in. Pick the shorter bench if you're tight on floor; pick the longer bench if you'll have two technicians side-by-side, or if you'll mount a vise on one end and still need usable surface.
Need integrated storage under the worksurface beyond what's listed here? Add a mobile cabinet to roll under one end, or use the configurator to spec a Technical Bench (TB) variant with drawer pedestals integrated into the bench frame.
Workbenches and workstations ship freight-free to the contiguous 48. Lead time is approximately 4 to 6 weeks for stocked frames; pedestal-bearing workstations follow the standard 1-2 week Express timing.
