Lista Cabinet Dimensions and Capacity

By Anthony Trinh, Charlie One LLC · Last updated: September 8, 2026

Lista publishes dimensions in PDF catalogs, one section at a time, which is fine if you already know which section you need and useless if you are trying to compare a nine-drawer cabinet against a seven-drawer one. This page puts every cabinet we stock into a single table you can read on a phone, with the drawer counts, the compartment counts, and the delivered price next to each one.

How to read a Lista model number

The model number tells you everything except the color. Take HS13-0902:

  • HS is the series, and the series sets the footprint. HS is the wide, shallow one.
  • 13 is the housing model. It sets the height. Larger number, taller cabinet.
  • 09 is the drawer count. Nine drawers.
  • 02 identifies which layout of those nine drawers you get. Same drawer count, different mix of drawer heights, different compartment count.

That last pair is the one people miss. HS13-0902 and HS13-0903 both have nine drawers, and they are not the same cabinet: one gives you 105 compartments and the other 120, because the drawer heights are split differently. If someone quotes you a nine-drawer HS13, ask which configuration.

Older cabinets used a different scheme entirely. If yours does not look like this, see old Lista Xpress part numbers, decoded and what Lista cabinet do I have.

The four footprints

Every cabinet below sits on one of four footprints. Pick the footprint first, because it determines what fits in your floor space and which worksurface tops will match later.

SeriesWidthDepthBest for
MP22 3/16″28 1/4″Compact mobile. Fits between machines and through standard doorways with room to spare.
ST28.23″28 1/2″Standard mobile. The default rolling cabinet.
SC28 1/4″28 1/2″Deep stationary. Longer tooling, deeper drawers, smaller wall footprint.
HS40 1/4″22 1/2″Wide stationary. Trades depth for width, so it holds more across and sits closer to the wall.

Heights are overall, including the base or casters the cabinet ships with, which is why a mobile cabinet and a stationary cabinet on the same housing model do not read the same height. Anything not on this list is a full-catalog configuration we quote per order; send us the spec.

Compartments, and why the number matters more than drawer count

Drawer count is what gets quoted. Compartment count is what you actually use. An SC13-1017 has ten drawers and 206 compartments; an SC13-0903 has nine drawers and 124. That is a 66 percent difference in the number of separately findable places to put a part, for a difference of about $430 and one drawer.

If you are storing many small distinct items, buy on compartments. If you are storing larger tooling that needs the drawer height, buy on drawer mix and ignore the compartment number. The divider layout is what turns one into the other, and it can be changed later: see drawer dividers, bins and organizers.

Worksurface tops, and which cabinet each one fits

Match the top to the cabinet footprint, not the model number. The wider 47 inch and 56 1/2 inch tops are meant to span two supports, either two cabinets or a cabinet and a bench leg.

A cabinet with a top on it is a workbench, and at the right housing height it lands exactly where a bench should. That is covered in what height should your workbench be.

What these numbers do not tell you

Three things the spec table cannot answer, in the order they usually come up:

  • Will it fit through my door. Check the width against your narrowest opening, and remember an eye-level cabinet at 59 1/2 inches tall still has to clear the truck, the dock, and any turn in the hallway. The MP footprint exists for exactly this problem.
  • How much does the whole cabinet hold. The 440 lb figure is per drawer. Total load depends on the housing and, for mobile cabinets, on the caster set. If you are loading near the limit on every drawer, tell us before you order and we will confirm the housing rating for that configuration.
  • What it costs configured my way. Prices above are the stocked configurations. Colors, lock type, and divider layouts change the number. The cabinet configurator prices a configuration live.

Common questions

How much weight does a Lista drawer hold?

440 lb per drawer on every stocked cabinet on this page, on full-extension slides. That is the drawer rating, not the cabinet rating, and it applies whether the drawer is 3 inches or 9 inches tall.

How do I read a Lista model number?

Take HS13-0902. HS is the series, which sets the footprint. 13 is the housing model, which sets the height. The last four digits are the drawer configuration: the first two are the drawer count, so 09 means nine drawers, and the last two identify which layout of those nine drawers you are getting.

What are the standard Lista cabinet footprints?

Four, measured as width by depth: MP compact at 22 3/16 by 28 1/4 inches, ST standard at 28 1/4 by 28 1/2 inches, SC deep at 28 1/4 by 28 1/2 inches, and HS wide at 40 1/4 by 22 1/2 inches. HS trades depth for width, which is why an HS cabinet holds more drawers across but sits closer to the wall.

Which worksurface fits my Lista cabinet?

Match the top to the cabinet footprint, not the model number. A cabinet that is 40 1/4 inches wide by 22 1/2 deep takes the 40 1/4 by 22 1/2 top. The wider 47 and 56 1/2 inch tops are made to span two cabinets or a cabinet and a leg.

Are Lista cabinet dimensions the same as Vidmar?

No. Lista and Vidmar are sister brands under Stanley Black and Decker, but the housings, drawers, and drawer hardware are different sizes and are not interchangeable. If you are cross-shopping, see our guide on choosing between the two.

Do older Lista cabinets use these same dimensions?

Not necessarily. Lista changed housing and drawer dimensions between generations, so drawers from an older cabinet will not always fit a current housing. If you are working with a used cabinet, identify what you have before ordering parts.
