How to choose a stationary cabinet

Lista's stationary cabinets are built around four levers: width, height, depth, and drawer layout. Two width series cover almost every shop need. The SC series (28¼ in wide) is the workhorse: fits standard 36 in aisles, takes 7 to 11 drawers, and lands in most tool rooms without floor reconfiguration. The HS series (40¼ in wide) is the heavy-payload option: same drawer mechanism, more cubic inches per cabinet, better for large parts, fixtures, or shared crib storage where you want fewer cabinets covering more parts.

Height is the next decision. The Lista Express catalog stocks two heights of stationary cabinet:

• Counter-Height (approximately 41¾ in tall) for standing assembly, inspection, and shop-stool work. 4 to 7 drawers per cabinet.
• Eye-Level (approximately 59½ in tall) for maximum drawer count per square foot of floor; common for tool cribs and inspection rooms. 7 to 10 drawers per cabinet.

Compact and Bench heights are available in the full Lista catalog but not stocked in Express. If you need those heights, use the configurator or contact us for a custom quote.

Depth comes down to part length. Full depth (28½ in) swallows almost anything in an aerospace or precision-machining tool kit. Shallow depth (22½ in) is for tight rooms or when you want a row of cabinets against a wall without eating the aisle.

Inside the cabinet, the Lista points system assigns each drawer a point value based on its height; the points must add up to the total points the housing accepts. The configurator builds a valid drawer stack for you and shows pricing live: use it if you know what you want to store. If you're outfitting an entire tool room, the layout planner will confirm full-depth cabinets get their 42 in drawer-access aisle before you commit to a wall run.
